Information given by Radio Nordés

It´s begining to be known the program of the V Congress of Xacobeas Asociations, which will be celebrated in Cee within the 9th and the 12th of October. Previously to this, on Sunday 3rd will be opened in Corcubión the bibliographic exposition of the Spanish Federation of the Road to Santiago´s Friends Asociation: A thousand years of History... a thousand books to know it. In paralell with the Congress, the Auditorium of Pilar in Corcubión, will hold a painting exposition of José Manuel Yañez about the Road from Fisterra to Muxía.

Fisterra

The day dedicated to Fisterra will be on Monday the 11th . After the sessions, the conference delegate will go to the Lighthouse in order to contemplate the sunset and innaugurate a sculpture in honour to the pilgrim. This sculpture consists of a pair of boots sculpted in bronze. Later, at the Santa María das Areas Church, a recital will be offered by the singer-songwriter Amancio Prada.

A fraternization dinner will be held at night, where Jesús Botana will provide entertainment and where typical products from the 'Costa da Morte' will be tasted. The day will finish with a Galician Linen cat-walk presented by the designer Charo Carrillo.

Semiotic Congress

The 300 experts participating in The International Semiotic Congress travelled through 'Costa da Morte' on Wednesday 27th. The Chilean writer Jorge Edwards has given a plenary paper, Chilean Millennialism, at the Santa María das Areas Church (Fisterra). Among the congress participants were Jean Baudrillard and Umberto Eco.
